WDAF FOX 4 News
Kansas City, Missouri
I joined the Fox 4 News Team in March 2014 as general assignment reporter for the 5 & 6 p.m. newscasts.
I love baseball, music, cooking, fitness, laughing, wit, movies, anything involving the military and family member reunions, Jack Bauer, Fleetwood Mac, and my dog Leah. I'm not a big fan of traffic, when people scrape their teeth against their fork while eating, or being late.
I want to cover anything that can help our viewers address, resolve, or bring awareness to a situation.
Current awards include Best Reporter for the 2013 Texas Associated Press of Broadcasters Division 4. I also earned a Lone Star Emmy nomination for my piece on white supremacy prison gangs.
Kansas City is a great place to live, work, play, and eat. It's also a great place to meet lots of interesting people. Oh, yeah, and sports. And did I mention eating?
Asking the Questions
Sometimes even bizarre stories need to be told. Having said that, I've done stories on "Murder For Sale: Murderabilia" as well as a piece about white supremacy prison gangs and the role they play, both in and out of prison. I also love covering court cases, spot news, and I also enjoy doing profile pieces on inspirational people or groups who have overcome struggles.
Meeting the Challenge
From interviewing officers injured in the line of duty, to families who have lost loved ones, I consider it a true honor to cover the stories that impact you. “There is nothing like being welcomed into someone's living room or office; nothing compares to sharing the stories of people whose lives have been impacted.”
